In which conditions are TruckClaws most effective?
- TruckClaws are effective in most conditions including mud, snow, ice and sand. Every scenario is different but we are available by phone and email to help you get the most out of your TruckClaws! There are lots of tips and tricks that are featured in our blog to get the most use out of your TruckClaws. Here are a few quick tips: When dealing with fine grain dry sand, pouring water in front of the tires can help the claws grab better to get your initial forward momentum. When dealing with a steep hill in slick conditions, having multiple traction cleats on each tire will give better performance. When dealing with loose gravel, trying tossing a few small sticks or even straw in front of your tires to help the claw grab. If buried deep in mud to the point where your truck frame is on high center, try laying a log or stump adjacent to your wheel and use our extender bars to lift you out.
Do I need TruckClaws if I have tire chains or drop down chains?
- Yes. Trucks can still get stuck after chains have been installed. TruckClaws Commercial can be installed over your tire chains after you are stuck so that your truck can move to a location where the chains are functional again.
Will TruckClaws work if I have the smaller holes in my rims?
- Yes, you just curl the strap up to thread it through the hole in the rim, then pull it through and it will work the same as the larger holes.

- No, if you’re driving on asphalt, absolutely not. TruckClaws should only be used to get your truck unstuck. After your truck is unstuck, stop and remove them immediately. In the case of getting out of a bog or sand: a differentiating factor between TruckClaws and other traction devices is not having to move traction boards in front of the tires continuously, which requires constant in and out of the vehicle. Under these conditions, TruckClaws can be left on until you are clear of the bog of sand and back onto a solid road or trail. Then the claws can be removed.
Can TruckClaws be installed after the vehicle is stuck?

How are TruckClaws Made?
- A lot of time and expense has gone into developing and manufacturing Truckclaws to work effectively in mud, sand, snow, and Ice. TruckClaws use high-quality metal materials designed to be reused again and again. Many of our competitors use rubber or plastic and their solutions are often thrown away after one use. All TruckClaws products are made of solid high-quality steel and aircraft-grade aluminum that is laser-cut for precise dimensions. They are finished by hand, assembled, and inspected for quality control in our Virginia based manufacturing plant. When used properly, Truckclaws can last a lifetime and with one avoided tow it will pay for itself. Our commercial clients that purchase our kits in large quantities know first-hand the positive impact our product has on their bottom line. The cost of tows and missed delivery deadlines is significantly reduced by having a TruckClaws kit in every one of their drivers’ trucks.

Also, you need a space in your rim for the strap to be inserted, if you have small holes in your rims the strap may be curled to thread the strap through.
